What is material for our kids furniture?

Our clients often ask question is, “hey, what is material do you use for kids furniture?” so today we will give a brief introduce for our main material MDF.

MDF ( Medium-density Fibreboard ) is an engineered wood product made by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibres, often in a defibrator, combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming it into panels by applying high temperature and pressure. MDF is generally denser than plywood. It is made up of separated fibres but can be used as a building material similar in application to plywood. It is stronger and denser than particle board. It’s actually recycled wood so it is also beneficial for the environment.

MDF is very consistent throughout, so cut edges appear smooth and you can use router to get decorative edges. The result is a board that is smooth throughout with no knots or imperfections to worry about. It’s great for painting since the boards are perfectly smooth. MDF is more competitive than solid wood and plywood.
A thick MDF panel at a density more than 790 kg/m3 can be considered as high density in the case of softwood fibre panels.MDF material from Tonglu is high density which is 806kgs/m3.With high density MDF, furnitures are more durable to use even with screw.

Most people may worry about the safety of formaldehyde. There is no need to worry about it. The MDF material from Tonglu is E0 grade MDF. The standard of E0 grade is that formaldehyde content ≤0.5mg/L.. E0 grade is one of the highest formaldehyde Emission standards for MDF, plywood and so on. E0 grade MDF are allowed to be used in interior environment without extra treatment.
